The 2020 keynote speaker will present data from the latest clinical trials for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and discuss new approaches for combination therapy in those patients.

In-Situ Simulation
09/18/2018 $0.00 The UTSW High Reliability Team is offering in-situ simulation in both Clements and Zale hospital units. Through simulation of an emergent and critical patient event and subsequent debriefing, staff and faculty are able to practice their teamwork and communication skills. This safe environment utilizes a high fidelity manikin that simulates patient decompensation. Through debriefing, participants discuss what went well and what could have been done better in regards to teamwork and communication.
Hereditary Cancer Syndromes: From Identifying Patients at Risk to Navigating Patients to Management (EM1908A)

$0.00 This course is a one hour video-based education opportunity to educate physicians on how to identify individuals at risk for more common and rarer hereditary cancer syndromes, how patients should be managed as there have been recent changes to National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines for many specific genes, and the impact of a genetic patient navigator on high-risk patient care. the practice standard used will be NCCN guidelines, but as guidelines are changing rapidly, this event would provide a succinct review to keep learners abreast of new information.
