Madhuri Sopirala, MD, MPH
Madhuri Sopirala is an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at UT Southwestern and the Chief of Infection Prevention and Control at VA North Texas Health Care System. She has over 15 years of experience in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology serving in medical directorship roles at The Ohio State University and at University of Cincinnati. She finished her medical school training in S.V. Medical College in India. Upon completing her residency training in Internal Medicine, she trained in Infectious Diseases fellowship program at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She also has Masters in Public Health in Clinical Investigation from The Ohio State University College of Public Health. She is a fellow of Infectious Diseases Society of America, a fellow of American College of Physicians and a member of Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America. Her research interests are healthcare epidemiology and multidrug resistant Gram negative infections.
