Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe the challenges of teaching novice learners to get to the “next step” of expertise.
- Explain how evidence-based medicine teaching and clinical guidelines can be misused by novice learners.
- Describe common cognitive errors made by trainees.
- Describe ways we might begin to teach trainees about thinking to avoid these errors and develop expertise.
