Breast cancer is a growing public health challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa, with unique epidemiological trends, barriers to care, and outcomes distinct from high-income settings. This Grand Rounds presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of:

  • The breast cancer landscape across the cancer care continuum—including screening, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and palliative care.
  • Explore disparities in access, the impact of late-stage presentation, and evolving treatment strategies within resource-limited settings.
  • Additionally, share findings from Dr. Gutnik's research, highlighting innovative approaches, emerging collaborations, and opportunities for improving breast cancer care in the region.
