Summary: An overview of the pathobiology of the injured endothelium after shock will be presented followed by some potential therapeutics to repair the injured endothelium. The use of plasma in nonbleeding conditions will be discussed as one therapeutic as well as some novel adjuncts

Objectives:
1. Discuss the mechanisms and importance of the endothelium in states of shock
2. Discuss potential uses of plasma to repair the endothelium in nonbleeding conditions
3. Review how therapeutics can differentially repair the injured endothelium
4. Discuss the gaps in our current knowledge and treatment strategies for the endothelium
