Objectives:
1. Identify patients in primary care settings who may be at increased risk for hereditary cancer based on personal and family history and who would benefit from genetic risk assessment or referral.
2. Describe the indications, benefits, limitations, and ethical considerations of cancer genetic counseling and genetic testing relevant to family practice, residency training, and community-based care.
3.Integrate genetic cancer risk information into clinical decision-making by appropriately interpreting common test results, and initiating evidence-based referrals and management strategies.
