Jennifer Lynch, MD, PhD

Dr. Lynch is the Associate Chief of Research for the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Perelman School of Medicine with a secondary appointment in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. She obtained her PhD in physics in 2009 from the University of Pennsylvania and focused her doctoral dissertation in the field of biomedical optics. She then went on to medical school at NYU School of Medicine, followed by an internship in pediatrics at CHOP, anesthesiology residency at UPenn, and advanced fellowships in pediatric anesthesia and pediatric cardiac anesthesia at CHOP. Dr. Lynch leads a biomedical optics lab at the University of Pennsylvania and her research is in the field of diffuse optics with a specific focus on the development and use of noninvasive neuromonitoring devices to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes in children with cardiac disease.
