Adam Milam, MD, PhD, FASE, FAHA

Adam J. Milam, MD, PhD, FASE, FAHA is a Professor of Anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine with a joint appointment in Quantitative Health Sciences as well as an Associate Professor of Epidemiology. He is board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology. He serves as the chair of the Health Equity Subcommittee at Mayo Clinic Arizona. Dr. Milam is also a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University College of Heath Solutions and Faculty Associate at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Prior to starting this position at Mayo Clinic, he completed his cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, he attended Johns Hopkins University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health. He also holds a Master of Health Science as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health from the Department of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In 2024, Dr. Milam was appointed to the Editorial Board of Anesthesia & Analgesia, serving as the Section Editor for the People and Health Advocacy Section and Executive Editor.
