Ioannis Angelidis, MD, MSPH

Dr. Ioannis (Yanni) Angelidis is a triple fellowship-trained anesthesiologist specializing in cardiothoracic anesthesia, critical care, and obstetric anesthesia. He practices at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where his clinical focus includes robotic mitral valve repair and 3D echocardiography, as well as leadership in cardio-obstetrics and high-acuity peripartum care.
A recognized voice in interdisciplinary collaboration, Yanni serves as co-chair of the SOCCA annual meeting organizing committee and leads national initiatives through SOAP and SOCCA, where he developed joint panel programming at major academic conferences. He has moderated panels and presented at ASA, SOCCA/IARS, and SOAP, and continues to shape the field through both clinical innovation and academic leadership.
He is passionate about advancing the care of complex maternal and cardiovascular patients through education, systems design, and team-based excellence.
