Juan Cata
I am a physician–scientist and anesthesiologist with a strong focus on perioperative medicine and cancer-related outcomes. My clinical and translational research centers on optimizing pain management, anesthesia techniques, and metabolic and molecular pathways that influence cancer progression and treatment response, particularly in head and neck malignancies. I have co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed manuscript and 20 book chapters, have extensive experience leading and collaborating on NIH-funded studies, including early-phase and investigator-initiated clinical trials. My work integrates mechanistic laboratory studies with patient-centered clinical research to improve safety, therapeutic efficacy, and long-term outcomes for surgical oncology patients.
