Catherine Chen, MD, MSHI

Catherine Chen, MD, MSHI, is an Associate Professor in the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She received her medical degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed internal medicine residency and pulmonary critical care fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. She is additionally board certified in Clinical Informatics and serves as the associate program director for the clinical informatics fellowship. Her research focuses on best practices for implementation of critical care guidelines and its effect on patient-centered outcomes. She is also studying the effect of health policy implementation on incidence of critical illnesses and was the recipient of the Society of Critical Care Medicine Discovery Research Grant in 2024 to examine the effects of abortion restriction on rates of critical illness among pregnant women.
