Dr. David Boldt is a highly accomplished Clinical Professor and Division Chief of Adult Multi-Specialty Anesthesiology at the School of Medicine at UCLA. He also serves as a Clinical Professor at the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Having completed fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Boldt divides his time clinically between the OR and the ICU.

Dr. Boldt’s areas of specialization include trauma, multi-specialty anesthesiology, and critical care medicine. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is the recipient of several awards for his contributions to medical research and clinical practice.  He continues to run multiple clinical trials at UCLA in topics such as AKI, sepsis, and refractory shock.  He is a big proponent of early, multimodal therapy in the treatment of refractory vasodilatory shock, and his current practice in the ICU and OR emulates this.

Dr. Boldt earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gonzaga University and his Master of Science in Medical Molecular Genetics from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii, Manoa. His residency training includes General Surgery at the University of Hawaii Surgical Residency Program and Anesthesiology at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, IL. He further enhanced his expertise with a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
