Dr. Claudia Bruguera is a pediatric anesthesiologist with expertise in perioperative quality improvement, patient safety, and the recently recognized genetic susceptibility to neurologic complications following exposure to volatile anesthetics. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, completed an anesthesiology residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, and a pediatric anesthesiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Bruguera serves on the Board of Directors of the Venezuelan Anesthesia Perioperative Risk (VAPOR) Society, where she collaborates with an international multidisciplinary team to advance research, education, and perioperative care for patients at increased risk of anesthesia-related complications. She is an invited national and international speaker on anesthesia-related neurologic complications in the Venezuelan population and has contributed to the development of perioperative recommendations that have informed clinical practice at multiple institutions across the United States and Canada.
