Daniel Kim, PhD

Daniel Kim is the Associate Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Radiology, the Knight Family Professor of Cardiac Imaging, and the Director of the Cardiovascular Imaging Center for Translational Imaging. He is widely recognized for research that bridges engineering and medicine. Dr. Kim has published more than 110 peer-reviewed papers and secured over $17.6 million in extramural funding as principal investigator from agencies including the NIH, the AHA, and the RSNA. His contributions have been recognized with the Distinguished Investigator Award from The Academy for Radiology & Biomedical Imaging Research. He has served as an NIH reviewer for the past ten years and currently sits on the Board of Trustees of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. He is also a dedicated educator, having served as the primary mentor to more than 30 medical students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
