Jonathan Lindner
Dr. Lindner is currently holds the Frances Myers Ball Endowed Chair and serves as the Vice Chair for Research for the Division of Cardiovacular Medicine at the University of Virginia. He received his medical degree and residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and received his cardiovascular training at the University of Virginia where he was on faculty before taking several leadership roles at Oregon Health Sciences University, and then returning to UVa after 16 years. Dr. Lindner has expertise in the fields of cardiovascular imaging and microvascular physiology; and is currently the principal investigator on three R01 grants from the National Institutes of Health and a grant from NASA. His research laboratory has pioneered the use of contrast ultrasound for non-invasive molecular imaging of disease and the assessment of microvascular function/dysfunction, and for therapeutic ultrasound cavitation Dr. Lindner is a Past President for the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE); and is the Chair for the Exam Writing Committee and on the Board of Directors for the National Board of Echocardiography. He has served as the chair for NIH study sections, and is the co-Chair of the NIH/NHLBI Data Safety Monitoring Board for Gene and Cell Therapies.
