Amit Pandya, MD
Dr. Amit G. Pandya is a dermatologist at the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group in Sunnyvale, CA, where he is Director of the Pigmentary Disorders Clinic and Associate Director of Phototherapy. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from UT Southwestern Medical School and completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and in Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He was on faculty at UT Southwestern for approximately 30 years before moving to California. He has written approximately 250 articles and book chapters and has given hundreds of lectures as a visiting professor nationally and internationally. He has received numerous awards, including the Clarence Livingood Lectureship, Arnold Gold Humanism Award and Member Making a Difference Award from the American Academy of Dermatology. He specializes in vitiligo, melasma and other pigmentary disorders and his ongoing research is focused on the etiology, epidemiology, measurement, quality of life, diagnosis and treatment of these cutaneous disorders. He is a past president of the Global Vitiligo Foundation and Skin of Color Society. He is also interested in mentorship, diversity and pipeline programs to help underrepresented individuals succeed in medical careers. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, hiking, bicycling, scuba diving, salsa and bachata dancing with his wife Laura.
