Shawn Shah, MD
Dr. Shawn Shah is a faculty member within the Division of Digestive & Liver Diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He specializes in Advanced Endoscopy. Dr. Shah graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami with a degree in microbiology and immunology and economics, and completed medical school at the Florida State University College of Medicine. He went onto pursue Internal Medicine residency at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, followed by his Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship and minimally invasive advanced endoscopy training at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Shah’s aim is to improve the quality of care of patients who require endoscopy. His research interests include bariatric endoscopy and post-bariatric complication, early detection and management of early gastrointestinal neoplasia and novel endoscopic resection techniques. He has presented his research at numerous national meetings. His clinical interests lie in pancreaticobiliary disease and endoscopic detection and management of early gastrointestinal neoplasms.
