Anna Katherine Black, PhD
Dr. Anna Katherine Black is a licensed clinical health psychologist specializing in the assessment and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders and conditions involving the gut–brain axis. She provides evidence-based behavioral interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy for gastrointestinal disorders (CBT-GI) and gut-directed clinical hypnosis, to help patients with disorders of gut–brain interaction (DGBIs), inflammatory bowel disease, chronic gastrointestinal symptoms, and other complex digestive conditions.
Dr. Black has a particular interest in medically complex patients whose symptoms arise from the interplay of gastrointestinal physiology, autonomic nervous system dysregulation, stress, and learned brain–gut processes. Her clinical work focuses on reducing symptom burden, improving quality of life, and restoring gut–brain regulation through interdisciplinary, patient-centered care. She is passionate about collaborating with gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals to integrate evidence-based gut–brain therapies into comprehensive GI treatment.
