Shruti Zaveri, MD/MPH
Dr. Shruti Zaveri is an Assistant Professor in Surgical Oncology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She graduated from Northwestern University with an undergraduate degree in Economics and Global Health and completed a concurrent MD and MPH degree program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed surgical residency training at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has pursued several research avenues merging her interest in surgery and public health, including work in postoperative opioid reduction, access to surgical care in resource-limited settings, and disparities in surgical and oncologic care. At UT Southwestern, she hopes to develop a program for cancer-care capacity building in low-resource settings as the Director of Global Surgical Oncology.
