John Carter, M.L.I.S.

John Carter serves as the Education and Instruction Librarian at UT Southwestern. He
regularly provides instruction, both group and one-on-one sessions, on library resources
and services. As the liaison to the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the School
of Health Professions, his work centers around promoting library resources, enhancing the
information-seeking practices of faculty, staff, and students, and embedding librarians in
these curricula.
John holds a Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) from the University of
Southern Mississippi. He is actively involved in the Medical Library Association, the
regional South Central Chapter, and several other professional organizations. He has been
a member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP) since 2021.
