Christina Yek, MBBCh

I am a medical doctor with dual clinical training and accreditation in Infectious Diseases and Critical Care Medicine; my research expertise involves using clinical and bio-informatics to study infectious disease epidemiology. I completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where I also served as Chief Resident, before continuing to ID and Critical Care fellowships at the National Institutes of Health. I am an Associate Research Physician at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and hold a second appointment as Staff Clinician within the Critical Care Medicine Department of the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. Beginning in September 2023 I have been stationed in Cambodia where I serve as NIAID representative to the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh and run the NIAID International Center of Excellence in Research. My research activities include conduct of observational and interventional studies focusing on endemic and emerging infectious disease priorities in Cambodia, and clinical epidemiological research on antimicrobial resistance and special pathogens in the US.
