Kevin Lutz, Ph.D.

Dr. Kevin Lutz earned his Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2023. He is currently a faculty member at UTSW serving as an assistant professor of biostatistics in the O'Donnell School of Public Health (OSPH). At UTSW, Dr. Lutz teaches biostatistics courses to masters and PhD students in the public health program, is co-director of the Instructional Excellence Unit in OSPH, is engaged in research with various investigators at UTSW, serves as a statistical consultant for the Biostatistics and Data Science Core (BDSC), and provides biostatistical mentoring through support from the CTSA. His independent research includes creating novel and tailoring current Bayesian statistical methods for microbiome data analysis including differential abundance analysis, integrative analysis, network analysis, and stochastic block modeling analysis.
