Dr. John Burruss is the CEO of Metrocare, one of the largest providers of mental health & intellectual disability services in the country. Over 2000 Metrocare staff complete 3200 clinical encounters every day for clients throughout the lifespan.
Before joining Metrocare, Dr. Burruss spent 17 years at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he served in many roles culminating in the position of Executive Medical Director for Affiliates. He has been a practicing psychiatrist for 25 years, with stints at both Ben Taub & Parkland Hospitals, and he is Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern and a Fellow of the American College of Psychiatrists.
