Abhisek Khandai, MD, FAPA

Dr. Abhisek "Chandan" Khandai is a consultation-liaison psychiatrist at UT Southwestern Medical Center, in Dallas, TX. Originally from Chicagoland, he did his medical school at University of Pittsburgh, his psychiatry residency at Northwestern, and his consultation-liaison psychiatry fellowship at University of Washington. In addition to serving as a consultation-liaison psychiatry teaching attending at Parkland Hospital, the Dallas County safety net hospital, he is one of the founding reproductive psychiatrists for Texas PeriPAN, a state-wide women's mental health consultation line. He also serves on the UT Southwestern Psychiatry collaborative care team, helping implement the collaborative care model in pediatric mental health in North Texas. He serves as Co-Chair for the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Subcommittee of the Acadmey for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry (ACLP), and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Council on Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry. His academic interests include integrated and collaborative care, medical education, women's mental health, and social justice.
