Esther Danphuong Wang, MD
Esther Danphuong Ho, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Ho earned her medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles and completed her residency in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019. Previously, she was a member of the family medicine hospitalist faculty and the Family Medicine Residency Program Director at the University of California, Irvine, where she also co-founded Schwartz Rounds, which are multidisciplinary grand rounds-style events that focus on a case or theme related to the emotional impact of patient care that health care professionals experience.
Dr. Ho sees patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings at several UT Southwestern clinical sites. Her academic and research interests include hospital medicine, graduate medical education, clinician well-being, and cancer survivorship care training.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Society of Hospital Medicine, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society, among other professional organizations.
In 2017, Dr. Ho was awarded the UC Irvine Residency Program Director of the Year, and in 2018 she earned the UC Irvine Department of Family Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award.
