Malinee Neelamegam, PhD, MPH
Dr. Malinee Neelamegam is a social epidemiologist whose research focuses on aging trajectories, health disparities, and the intersection of chronic disease management and geriatric care. Her work emphasizes community-engaged approaches to understanding the long-term impact of medications and social determinants on aging, particularly among people living with HIV and other underrepresented populations. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the National University of Malaysia. At the University of South Florida, she completed the MPH degree in Epidemiology and Global Health Practice and the PhD degree in Epidemiology. Prior to joining the UNTHSC faculty, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Yale School of Public Health focused on aging in people living with HIV.
At the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Neelamegam is a recognized leader in patient-centered comparative effectiveness research (CER), advancing public health interventions that address multimorbidity and promote healthy aging. Her collaborative efforts include projects with the AIDS Outreach Center and the NIH CEAL program, where she leverages community partnerships to design and implement innovative health solutions.
