David Denney, Clinical Psychology PhD, 2-year postdoctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology

Dr. Denney earned his PhD in clinical psychology at UT Southwestern in 2015 and then completed a two-year postdoctoral residency in clinical neuropsychology at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ. He returned to UT Southwestern in 2017 for a faculty position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, where he performs neuropsychological evaluations in the outpatient Neuropsychology Service, supervise clinical neuropsychology pre- and post-doctoral trainees, and teach coursework in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. His clinical practice includes performing the neuropsychological evaluations for epilepsy surgery candidates and consultation with the UT Southwestern epilepsy surgery team regarding cognitive contraindications for epilepsy surgery. He has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed manuscripts related to neurocognitive functioning in several clinical populations, including epilepsy, mild cognitive impairment, and subjective memory complaints.
