Born and raised in Punjab, India, Dr. Sandhu received her medical degree from Government Medical College, Patiala, and completed psychiatry residency training at Charleston Area Medical Center, West Virginia, where her interest in addiction psychiatry came from seeing a vast overlap of patients with psychiatric illnesses and substance use. She aspires to advocate for mental health care for patients with dual diagnoses. Outside her fellowship training, she loves to spend time with her son and husband and travel.
