MARK R. PITTELKOW, M.D. Dr. Pittelkow is Professor, Departments of Dermatology, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and had been a consultant in Dermatology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN over the past 42 years. From 2013-2021, Dr. Pittelkow was Chair, Department of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic Arizona. In 2017, Dr. Pittelkow was appointed the inaugural Robert S. Totz, M.D. endowed Chair of Dermatology at Mayo Clinic. He completed his undergraduate and graduate academic training with honors at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and received his medical degree and post-medical graduate training at the Mayo Medical School/Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr.Pittelkow has been the recipient of more than 180 invited lectureships both in the US and Europe as well as Japan, India and Asia. Dr. Pittelkow has authored more than 430 peer reviewed scientific papers. Dr. Pittelkow has pioneered research in epidermal growth regulation and growth factor function, treatment of severe burns with autologous cloned human keratinocytes, and has been a leader in advancing the sub-specialties of complex medical dermatology, cutaneous lymphomas, cutaneous paraneoplasia, chronic wounds and wound healing, psoriasis as well as melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer.
