Anna Bar, MD
Dr. Bar is a Professor of Dermatology and Co-Director of Mohs micrographic surgery. Dr. Bar is the Director of the Fellowship Program in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology, and has trained fellows since 2006 in this advanced technique. Dr. Bar specializes in skin cancer surgery, including Mohs micrographic surgery and the subsequent reconstruction. She has advanced training in laser and cosmetic surgery, fillers and scar revision. Dr. Anna Bar is double board certified in Dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery.
Dr. Bar received her medical degree from New York University medical school, followed by an internal medicine internship at New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital. After completing dermatology training at OHSU, she pursued additional fellowship subspecialty training in Mohs surgery and cosmetic and laser surgery at the California Skin Institute.
Dr. Bar is a sought after speaker both nationally and internationally with over 150 past lectures. She has presented on Mohs for melanoma, Reconstruction after Mohs surgery, and Cosmetic topics in Canada, England, Greece, Italy, Singapore, South Africa, Brazil, and across the USA. She regularly lectures and teaches courses for physicians at the national meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She has authored over 60 peer reviewed articles, abstracts, and book chapters about skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology, and regularly instructs other doctors, residents and medical students in skin cancer surgery.
She serves on the Board of Directors for the Association of Academic Cosmetic Dermatologists and has served on the Board of Directors for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She is a past President of Oregon Dermatology Society and is currently on the Board of Directors for ODS.
Dr. Bar enjoys spending time with her husband, who is also a dermatologist, and her daughters. She likes wakesurfing, golfing, snowboarding and beach volleyball.
