Juan Deleija-Lujano, MD
Juan Deleija-Lujano, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in lung transplants, advanced mechanical support, and end-stage interstitial lung disease.
Dr. Deleija-Lujano earned his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, where he also gained advanced training through a pulmonary and critical care fellowship.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2024.
Dr. Deleija-Lujano's research interests include the role of advanced mechanical support in severe respiratory failure, the phenotyping of progressive lung disease, and the role of socioeconomic factors on long-term transplant outcomes.
He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), where he is an active member of the CHEST Networks as well as the Trainee Work Group Committee.
