Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Make reasoned treatment decisions on length of therapy for unprovoked venous thromboembolism
  • Be familiar with the major trials comparing warfarin and the novel oral anticoagulants(NOAC)
  • State the internet resources for estimating bleeding risk and managing bleeding in a patient on a NOAC
