EM2004F "COVID-19: what are our therapeutic options?" (IM GR-040320)

The purpose of this lecture is to provide the current evidence of therapeutic options available for treatment for those with COVID-19. The lecture will also cover current clinical trials available at UT Southwestern and Parkland for COVID-19 patients.

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the mechanism of action of IL-6 inhibitor.
  • Understand the current evidence for use of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin for treatment of COVID-19.
  • Understand the current evidence for the use of remedisvir for the treatment of COVID-19.
