EM2006E "COVID-19 Coagulopathy: A Distinct Entity?" (IM GR-061920)

The goal of this presentation is to provide a summary of the coagulopathy, thrombotic complications, and anticoagulation management of patients with COVID-19. The presentation will also cover the role of inflammation in thrombosis as well as the vascular endothelial dysfunction associated with COVID-19.

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Describe the characteristics of COVID-19 coagulopathy.
  • Understand the link between inflammation and thrombosis.
  • Describe the clinical consequences of COVID-19 coagulopathy and proposed management strategy.
