Purpose and Overview
Physician burnout is a work related syndrome, and is associated with adverse effects on patients, physicians health, and the healthcare workforce. Rates of burnout symptoms are close to 50% in trainees and practicing physicians. The problem represents a public health care crisis that must be addressed. All stakeholders must work together to implement effective remedies for physician burnout.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe physician burnout
- Acknowledge and address the causes of burnout
- Enact change to provide solutions
