Purpose and Overview
To give an overview of eosinophilic esophagitis as a disease state including review of its increasing incidence, positioning of current available therapies as potential future targets for treatment in eosinophilic esophagitis
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Define eosinophilic esophagitis and recognize its rapidly increasing incidence.
- Understand the treatments that are currently utilized in the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis and their relative efficacy and limitations.
- Recognize emerging treatment options for eosinophilic esophagitis and possible future targets for treatment.
