Purpose and Overview

The purpose of this presentation is to understand why the Global Diabetes Program was created and to highlight major accomplishments of the program. A specific focus will be given to the academic contributions of the program. The current state of the program will be discussed with an explanation of what future goals will be.

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand how the Global Diabetes Program was established and its evolution over the past 10 years.
  • Review highlights of major accomplishments achieved over the past 10 years with a focus on academic contributions.
  • Explain the current state and future directions of the program.
