Purpose and Overview

This lecture summarizes the presentation, etiology and complications of hypoparathyroidism. Standard of care will be reviewed and novel PTH analogues will be discussed.

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

  • Recognize clinical presentation and complications of hypoparathyroidism.
  • Compare the limitations of conventional therapy to emerging treatment options.
  • Discuss major advances in emerging treatment options and their potential impact on patient management.
