Purpose and Overview
To inform the university and medical community about endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). The lecture will go over the concept of ESD, its indications, its limitations, and its role in a gastrointestinal oncology program.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Understand the endoscopic submucosal dissection procedure
- Understand the indications for ESD
- Understand the role of ESD in a GI oncology program
