Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the low probability of success that is characteristic of drug discovery and development, and the key role of target selection in determining success.
  • Understand the role causal human biology can play in identifying and validating potential drug targets 
  • Review examples of targets validated by causal human biology that have translated to novel medicines for multiple diseases.
