Purpose and Overview
Obesity is a chronic and complex medical disease associated with numerous medical conditions. However, factors contributing to obesity are unique to each patient. As novel and potent therapies arise for obesity treatment, we require current, evidence based strategies to build personalized plans ensuring sustainable and healthy outcomes for our patients.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Advise patients that obesity is a chronic medical disease and how a personalized approach to obesity treatment improves associated medical conditions
- Discuss latest anti-obesity medications and novel therapies that target obesity and related cardiometabolic diseases
- Outline personalized lifestyle strategies to sustainably improve metabolic health.
