Purpose and Overview
My lecture will focus on human autoimmune disease genetics and new clues into how immune tolerance is controlled.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Appreciate the genetics of autoimmune disease
- Understand T cell tolerance and the role of the thymus in controlling this
- Appreciate new platforms to study autoimmunity
