EM2610E "Physician Heal Thyself- How to Become Burnout Resistant" (IM GR-100226)
Purpose and Overview
We are in a burnout epidemic. Much of medicine feels under attack. The average age for physicians to leave medicine is 48 years old.
Physicians are some of the mostly highly trained professionals and we are often the last to ask for help or to question if there is another way to approach a problem.
I will introduce 10 thoughts for us to consider for ourselves, our colleagues and our patients.
These will be framed around the concept of coaching and curiosity.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
