Shamekia Wells, AGACNP-BC
Shamekia Wells, MSN, APRN NP-C, is a board certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the department of Internal Medicine Inpatient Palliative Care at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Mrs. Wells completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas of Arlington, and then earn her Masters of Science Nursing from Walden University with a concentration in Adult Gerontology Acute Care. Shamekia has been in the Palliative Care field for almost a decade serving as a Palliative Care Nurse Specialist at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center before joining the UTSW Palliative Care team in 2018. She has a special interest in inequity among African Americans in healthcare. Se is a member of the Texas Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Sigma Alpha Pi and Hospice and Palliative Nurse Association.
