Marquita Norman, Marquita S. Norman, MD, MBA
Marquita Norman, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in health equity, health care workforce diversity, medical education, and communication skills.
Dr. Norman earned her medical degree at the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Michigan. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration with a health-service concentration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Norman is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the National Medical Association, and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. She regularly delivers presentations to a wide range of audiences and has published numerous articles and book chapters. She recently co-authored a chapter in Diversity and Inclusion in Quality Patient Care: Your Story/Our Story – A Case-Based Compendium.
In 2020, Dr. Norman received the Alumni Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of Michigan Department of Emergency Medicine.
