Michelle Owens, D.O.

Dr. Michelle Owens is a hospice and palliative medicine physician who lives in Austin, TX. She received her osteopathic medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences (KCUMB). She completed her family medicine residency at UT Austin Dell Medical School in Austin, TX, and completed her hospice and palliative medicine (HPM) fellowship at UT Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. She is the Associate Medical Director for Vynca/ResolutionCare, a virtual palliative medicine company. Prior to joining Vynca/ResolutionCare, she was the inaugural section chief of supportive and palliative care at Baylor Scott and White in Round Rock, TX, and practiced as a hospice clinical physician at Hospice Austin's Christopher House to provide medical care to all of the patients in their inpatient hospice unit. She is a graduate of the American Academy ofFamily Practice (AAFP) Leading Physician Well-being Program and has a passion for integrating well-being within the workplace. She is the co-founder and co-chair of the American Academy of Hospice & Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) self-care community, as well as co-chair of her local Medical Society Physician Wellness Program. She participates in the education of medical students, residents and HPM fellows as Affiliate faculty at the UT Austin Dell Medical School. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and 2 amazing kids, as well as listening to live music, eating good food and traveling.
