Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

1.    Identify and describe the core biomarkers underlying the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease.

2.    Distinguish the biological and clinical stages of Alzheimer’s disease and their relationship to biomarker changes.

3.    Discuss the limitations and challenges of applying biomarkers in routine clinical practice.

Summary:

This session will provide an overview of current biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease, spanning research applications and clinical practice. Participants will learn how biomarkers reflect the underlying pathophysiology, how they map onto biological and clinical stages of the disease, and the limitations of their use in patient care. Emphasis will be placed on translating advances from research into practical considerations for diagnosis and treatment planning.
