Purpose and Content

This Monthly series will consist of the review of individual cases of stillbirth allowing a greater exposure for the involved learners to improve their depth of knowledge and understanding. We will review the complex clinical evaluation that is required to best identify the etiology of stillbirths, and when specific types of testing are warranted so that appropriate interventions may be offered in future pregnancies. We will also review the utility and cost-effectiveness of various laboratory tests in each case, so that providers may improve their evaluation and management of these complex patients. The format consists of a one-hour small-group discussion with case studies.
