Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

1. Define music therapy and clarify distinctions between music therapy, music medicine, and environmental music programs, and the potential role of music therapy within a therapeutic treatment plan.

2. Identify risks and benefits of applying music therapy for specific patient populations, health conditions, life events, and clinical settings in which music therapy can occur across the life span.

3. Identify local resources and virtual options accessible to family physicians to refer patients for music therapy.
