Objectives: 

The participant will be able to: 

  • Describe why clinicians may use VO2max in both general populations and in athletes

  • Describe the physiology and calculations used to determine a VO2max

  • Describe methods to obtain and report a VO2max in a clinical and non-clinical setting

  • Provide some methods to improving VO2max as a proxy to improve general health

  • Describe the limitations to using a VO2max

  • Describe the current evolution with projected advancements in VO2max testing and utilization.
